"We do not make friends with God. God makes friends with us, bringing us to know Him by making His love known to us... The word 'know,' when used of God in this way, is a sovereign-grace word, pointing to God's initiative in loving, choosing, redeeming, calling, and preserving." -- J.I. Packer

"We are not seeing terrible things in our culture because we vote the wrong way. We are seeing terrible things in our culture because men love darkness more than light." -- Voddie Baucham

"Any objection to the evangelistic methods of our present golden-calf Christianity is met with the triumphant reply, 'But we are winning the lost!'
"And what are you winning them to? To true discipleship? To cross-carrying? To self-denial? To separation from the world? To crucifixion of the flesh? To holy living? To nobility of character? To a despising of the world's treasures? To total committal to Christ?
"Of course, the answer to all these questions is 'no!'" -- A.W. Tozer ("Treasures from Tozer")

"Then Yeshua was saying to everyone, 'If anyone wants to follow Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross every day, and follow Me.'" -- Luke 9:23 TLV

"Nobody can produce new evidence of your depravity that will make God change His mind. For God justified you with (so to speak) His eyes open. He knew the worst about you at the time when He accepted you for Jesus' sake; and the verdict which He passed then was, and is, final." -- J.I. Packer

One of my favorite Christian music artists is Simon Khorolskiy. He and his family live here in the USA. My favorite song by him is "Holy is the Lord" (lyrics below). Several of his songs pull right from Scripture, which I love.

Original song composed by Simon Khorolskiy
Based on the book of Isaiah chapter 6

    Lyrics

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
Above it stood the seraphim: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said:

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord; the whole earth is full of his glory
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord; the whole earth is full of his glory

And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I:

Woe onto me! Woe onto me! I am undone, for mine eyes have seen the King Almighty
Woe onto me! Woe onto me! I am undone, for mine eyes have seen the King Almighty

Then flew one of the seraphim unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs
    from off the altar:
And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:

Whom shall I send? Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? Then said I: Lord, here I am
Whom shall I send? Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? Then said I: Lord, here I am

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord; the whole earth is full of his glory
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord; the whole earth is full of his glory
